Thermography is measuring the infrared radiation thermal field by recording and visualization of temperature distribution on surfaces observed.

An IR photography can give us a lot of information. Thermography is the only diagnostic technology that allows you to view and verify thermal performance. IR cameras today will allow the identification of the nature of thermal problems, quantify them through a  extremely precise non-contact measurment, allowing automatic presentation of results in the form of professional reports.

Almost any device that uses or transmits energy is overheating prior to malfunction. Therefore nowadays nobody disputes that thermography is the most effective predictive maintenance technology designed, due accuracy and reliability with which potential problems can be identified. Using thermography shows a multitude of other benefits:

  • allows remote temperature measurement without direct contact
  • is a non-destructive method – does not affect in any material object or process being investigated
  • is a non-invasive method – can be repeated as often as needed

is the investigation of quickly and efficiently without requiring equipment decommissioning

  • defects are detected at an early stage, long before damage occurs

In the Energy field, we investigate all types of installations, transport, distribution and use of electricity:

  • electric generators
  • transformers, autotransformers, compensation coils
  • electric cells
  • electric cables
  • electric cable connections
  • electric panels

These types of equipment can detect:

  • weakened or damaged electrical connetions
  • damaged bushings, internal transformation of terminal units and deficiencies in their cooling systems
  • overheated circuits (undersized)
  • unbalanced circuits
  • induction heating
  • other faults visible due to thermal modification

Advantages of thermography in relation to other methods:

  • system inspection is done in a very economical way without stopping the technological process
  • thermal imaging provides an image that allows quick and accurate identification of overheated points representing potential flaws. It is also possible to evaluate primary heat loss
  • images recorded can be analyzed with a dedicated program
  • it is possible an early detection of defects, their degree of risk assessment, planning repairs – obtaining in this way a decrease failure rate and a higher reliability

Presentation of thermographic services:

  • scanning of all important objectives for the beneficiary
  • scanning of thermal power plants in operation

  • lowering maintenance costs of installation work
  • the possibility of identifying a defect before it occurs
  • the possibility not to stop the flow of production by preventing the major defect
  • reducing considerable the risk of fire

Written report of infrared inspection will include:

  • list of defects detected
  • individual defect reports
  • infrared thermography image
  • visible image
  • localozation
  • temperature of reference and defect
  • recomandtions
